More of those great Peonies! They come in so many variations, these were from a garden. Those whitish 'threads' catching light!
Here below you can see I painted these sitting outside. When there's no sunlight you can make use of a spotlight indoors. But sunlight is the best 'spotlight' I think.
I think gouache lends itself well to 'simplify the complex'. The ability to work in layers is a big pro.
Sometimes when it's hot outside, sitting in the sun, the gouache dries up too quick, working faster and spraying water on the palette helps.
Using bigger brushes helps.
