Painting a Rose in Gouache

Roses Are Difficult!

No secret there! This time I wanted to paint a rose in gouache.

Benefits are that it doesn't get to be like 'a whirlwind' of paints, like oil painting quickly can become when painting a rose.

Still you can get too far with gouache even so.

Working with the gouache felt good again, I went to the flower store to find tulips, but they were all sold out. Found this rose there.

I could create a good video recording about creating this painting.
The full A-Z Process! Coming soon.

It will be added as a single DVD & online video
and it's also added to my Floral Course soon.

It's fun how the dark backgrounds feels like the object was painted indoors. But of course, if you've been reading my blog posts, you know that I paint my stilllifes for 99.99% outdoors.
And if you have :) you know why.

Currently, you can still join this Challenge, watch videos and be motivated to paint!
