Getting lucky: seeing these dark clouds, accentuating the light blue, the cream of morning clouds.
→ Want to know the secret to painting these moments?
The answer is simple: 'just show up' (enough times), any day is a painting day, not because you feel like it, not because the weather forecast predicted blue skies. You're just going.
It's easier when you have fixed painting days, when you go out, rain or shine.
Then (!) you'll get lucky more often.
Because I've waited for such a thing again. Yes, being indoors, seeing it passing by. It's swift. It's the time just before or just after the rain. Glad I got this one captured. I'm always waiting to see it and to paint it again! One of my favourite sky effects.
