Paintings in Oils by Roos Schuring.
Plein air painting, Images & Videos, Enjoy!
I 'videod' this painting's process, but it was SO stormy that I had to re-record another painting session.
Still finding new ways to share video, the vertical size, which is then not right for Instagram's feed, nor Facebook, but it is for Tikfok and YT. The vertical video, it's just a bad idea I think, for Insta you need a 5:4 for the feed, or choose for 16:9 a reel. I hate the reels.
I don't like Stories, the Reels I never look at, anyways, almost getting 'too old' for all the options and 'stuff a painter in the digital age needs doing'.
Many of you will feel the same : )
But we're fumbling our way into it. And sometime you WILL find a way, or a 'formula' that works for you as it does for the viewer.
I still like the vlog format I have. Though it would be better to also show more 'brushing away'.
Luckily I started the demo/course building almost a decade ago, so that foundation is there. But everyone knows, if you aren't on social (often) you almost don't exist anymore.
And who will visit a blog these days :)
Yet, I'll continue because I know, as I deleted most of my Facebook, Insta will be gone one day, Tikfok I hate, YT is not helping my channel, and so we'll build our own steady, solid home (here).
It's I think important to be able to see ones own progress, to have 'any sort of portfolio' just for you, to learn from AND to show others who are interested.
A diary, a portfolio, a (photo)book or a blog all help. Categorising, organising, having an overview, you're doing this for yourself and for the other.
Even if you hate social media: do keep track of what you create. It's VERY worth doing. It will help your progress and it makes you feel proud.
