That Silver Lining
Nature's Silver & Gold.
"That silver lining" is the title for this painting, often these titles come during painting. Driving for 40 minutes to the beach we will see the most amazing cloud formations and you then just hope the winds at the coast haven't blown these away.
To find the big big clouds with their golden lines is a treasure. It might be (just a personal) fascination but it is the fuel to paint so often and to search for combinations, colors, light effects, and new solutions for areas.
The clouds let you increase contrasts, increase darks, play with 'blues/greys' and highlights. Darks allow for darker highlights. It's very interesting to me to experiment this way.
Every (different) moment allows for new experiments. In the painting the children and kite create the sense of spaciousness. And with that, the hugeness of the clouds.
