Night Falling

Catching Moments.

I used to paint mostly around morning and midday, but the odd hours fascinate me most now. The silver linings, the pink last/first parts of sunlight on clouds or trees, the twilight of evening. These moments go by fast but are so beautiful.

When you're looking outside a window seeing these things, think how great it would be when -tomorrow- you're there in a field somewhere painting -this- moment. Just peek at the clock and make sure you're there tomorrow at least 1 hour/45 min. earlier. Often 'effects' in nature happen 2 days in a row at about the same time. It does. Not always, but often it does.

Here the night is falling, the shimmer of lights appearing, the sky not totally dark yet. Browns, greys, blues.

“King Winter where art thou?”*

So disappointing to haven't had snow this January, February -yet-. I'm looking at forecasts, but nothing to be seen there. Perhaps March will surprise us, but they say, it's going to be summerish warm, well. I need to let it go.

“King Winter where art thou?”*

→ In the past, I was fussing with led-lights shining on the palette or needing a street lamp for the nocturnes. But I found a great new tool, a headband filled with lights, giving at least a 180-degrees light. Will test it out, will share then.
