We went to the east of Holland, there you have 'ridges' of higher trees, part pine forests, creating a far different horizon. Way darker, higher, not as flat as where we live.
A see-through. In the morning. Great shadows on the path. A white birch tree on the right. Darks created by the trees on the left.
The cows walked out of the picture too soon. That's unfortunate. I love having 1 or 2 more near. Yes, always learning. "Start the painting with what moves!"
Whether this is the light that you want to catch, or a beautiful cloud formation, or figures and cows. When they're 'perfect' as they show themselves: get them in FAST.
I have a vlog episode about painting cows here
If you're interested in learning about how I create my Cows/Landscape Paintings, I've created an online painting course 'Painting Landscapes With Cows' ► find it here
Recently I also added an IN THE FIELD class (in Holland) for artists who want to paint the landscape + cows from life ► find this here
