We went chasing cows closer to home and found this spot.
Having fun again with trees, overhanging the scene. Nice to create the 'see-throughs' I favour a lot.
I could have used more cows near, but yes, I think one must not get carried away in painting the scenery, trees, grasses, shadows and forget to pay attention to the 'backbone' of the painting: cows. At the end one loses their boldness placing them. So the cow composition could have been better if I had started with them perhaps.
That's the reason to go back to similar spots. And taking different 'routes', experimenting with different 'starts', composition, view-points, different color combinations, etc.
I have a vlog episode about painting cows here
If you're interested in learning about how I create my Cows/Landscape Paintings, I've created an online painting course 'Painting Landscapes With Cows' ► find it here
Recently I also added an IN THE FIELD class (in Holland) for artists who want to paint the landscape + cows from life ► find this here
